Shion is a statistician and public-interest technologist working on AI governance and human-centered data science inside public institutions. He co-authored the field’s foundational textbook and directs the lab’s collaborations across child welfare, housing, healthcare, and higher education.
He writes The Public Interest Technologist, a practitioner newsletter on AI, public institutions, and socio-technical auditing.
