Shion Guha

Assistant Professor, Faculty of Information & Department of Computer Science

Shion is a statistician and public interest technologist working on AI governance, sovereign AI and human-centered data science inside public institutions. He co-authored Human-Centered Data Science (MIT Press, 2022) and directs the lab’s collaborations across child welfare, homelessness services, healthcare and higher education. He is also Faculty Advisor on AI and Cities at the University of Toronto’s School of Cities.

He writes The Public Interest Technologist, a newsletter on AI governance and public-sector algorithms.
